Old Tent

It is our old deserved tent made from canvas. It wouldn't be a good idea to take it to the mountain journey or to use it on Subpolar Urals. But it fits well for a stroll in Moscow neighborhood.

 The forest holiday

We decided to meet that 8 March Holiday (the international women's day) in the forest. I was planning to lead my first mountains group in that coming summer and wanted to make a "field trial" before. As you see, they're talking about something funny here. We are sitting by the campfire near the Tourist village, which is located on the Savelovskaya railroad.

This is the duet of my sister Anya and her husband Igor. The most important thing was always to prevent Vitalik Guberin from making a trio. Being the very experienced tourist-kayaker, he didn't have a very good ear. But what a great tree we hacked down! Actually, we could only saw off two pieces of it. This pine was fallen down very professionally: it landed near the camping fire, although it had wicked intent to break our tent.

It's necessary for Michael Akinfin to warm his legs. We got a really good drink of vodka and wheat hooch yesterday to celebrate the women's day and Akinfin sang half of night after it with such a zeal that even frostbitten his toes a little bit.

Now we are much more sedate. Valya has couple of children (or maybe three of them?), Igor has two sons, Vitalik Guberin became exemplary husband (suddenly) and completed the University also, Michael Akinfin together with his wife are now singers in a church chorus. And the only person who spends his days in the US for some reason is me. Probably, for doing these Web pages (?).

15 miles more and we would reach our destination, which was the Yaroslavskya railroad.

There are wonderful sceneries in the beginning of springtime. In the Moscow area a winter means real winter; the spring is a real genuine spring - the time, when snow is melting and it's getting warmer, rather than having temperature in 90°F and humid stuffy air, which is pretty common for Maryland.
